Mabelle Perez

Berkadia

Mabelle Perez, a Director in Berkadia’s Hotels & Hospitality group, is an energetic, innovative real estate professional in Miami who is carving out a niche for herself in the arena of hotel investment sales. Over the last five years, she has been involved in over 20 transactions with a deal volume over $250M

In addition to establishing herself as an expert in South Florida hotel investment sales, she is also spearheading the sales of limited service hotel investments using a traditional or auction approach. These auctions cater to clients with distressed assets, quick sales, and assets in the $3 to $10 million range – an area with a tremendous need in the aftermath of the pandemic.

Perez initially started her career in residential real estate but pivoted to commercial in 2018 when she joined Marcus and Millichap’s Hotel Investment team. A year later, she joined Berkadia as an Associate Director, and was promoted to Director in 2020 – just three years into her commercial real estate career. A savvy marketer who understands the power of a good story, Perez takes full advantage of social media, podcasts, conferences, Telegram/WhatsApp to get in front of as many prospective clients and buyers as possible.

She is also actively involved in elevating the expertise of the broader CRE community outside of work, particularly women. Last year, Perez assumed the role of Director of Programs at CREW-Miami, where she manages a team of seven in developing and executing monthly events on such highly relevant topics as the rise (and fall) of crypto, the impact of rising construction and insurance costs on CRE, capital markets trends, affordable housing, and the impact of the cannabis industry on the retail sector. She says she enjoys being a role model for other aspiring real estate professionals. “People call me randomly all the time and ask me how I got into CRE,” she says. “I love helping people, and especially those that appreciate the help – I’m the person that always answers the phone.”

Her attitude and approach to work has evolved a lot over the last five years, in part thanks to mentorship she’s received by other female executives at Berkadia and the CREW Network. “This industry has taught me to be patient and even-keeled – to not get too low or too excited. Looking back, developing this mindset is perhaps the most rewarding part.”
